Dr. Neutra was the lead on the client side for the Department of Health Services. He challenged us to design something “great.” He was also the son of the late, great architect Richard Neutra. I completed this as part of a small team at the last large corporate firm I worked at before beginning make Architecture Company. I made the working model without a shop and a colleague and I used it to refine our design work. I designed the louvered south elevation and the entry sequence including the stairs. The building received a LEED Silver rating.
